Ankit’s practice focuses on private equity & venture capital and corporate & M&A deals. Ankit holds extensive experience of over 12 years in transactions in the venture capital, private equity and M&A space, and represents VC and PE funds as well as companies and founders on investments and equity fundraisings, acting as both investor counsel as well as company counsel. Ankit’s experience spans a wide range of sectors including deals in fintech, SAAS, edtech, gaming, consumer internet, crypto/ web3, FMCG, insurance, financial services, agritech and media. Ankit regularly represents multiple marquee financial investors such as renowned venture capital funds, corporate venture capital funds and private equity funds, in their investments and exits.

Ankit also has extensive experience in domestic and cross border (both inbound and outbound) M&A and strategic acquisitions in the tech, digital and FMCG sectors. In addition to transaction advisory, Ankit regularly advises and provides strategic inputs and solutions to clients and founders of high growth companies on corporate restructurings (including flip structuring), regulatory advisory on business models, shareholder and founder disputes and exits, commercial contracts and general corporate advisory. 

Ankit has pursued his B.A.,LL.B (Hons.) from the National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata.

  • Advised Steadview Capital on multiple deals, including investments in Chargebee (a subscription management and recurring billing SAAS unicorn), Policybazaar (India’s largest digital insurance marketplace), Carestack (a dental practice management SAAS platform), Exotel (a full stack customer engagement SAAS platform), Newton School (an edtech platform for engineering skills) and Ninjacart (India’s largest fresh produce supply chain company).
  • Advised Sequoia Capital on multiple deals, including investments in Razorpay (India’s largest payment gateway), CRED (a large fintech and credit card bill payment company), Bijak (an agritech company with a B2B marketplace for agricultural commodities), Plum (an employee health insurance and wellness startup), Mobikwik (a payment service provider and wallet company), Cuelearn (an edtech focused on math classes for K12 students).
  • Advised Chan Zuckerberg Initiative on its investments in BYJUS (world’s largest edtech company) and Eruditus (an edtech unicorn focused on executive business education).
  • Advised SolarSquare Energy Private Limited on its INR 100 Crore Series A funding round led by Elevation capital and Lowercarbon.
  • Advised Qapita Fintech India Private Limited on its 100% acquisition of KP Corporate Solutions Limited (ESOP Direct).
  • Advised Fitterfly Healthtech Private Limited in its Series A1 round led by Amazon Smbhav and Fireside Ventures. Fitterfly in raising USD 12 million.
  • Advised Attentive.ai, an artificial intelligence-based SaaS (software as a service) startup, on raising USD 5 million from Sequoia’s Surge fund and InfoEdge Ventures.
  • Advised Mass Mutual Ventures on its investments in Clinikk (a subscription based health insurance company) and Zluri (a SAAS operations management platform for IT teams).
  • Advised Multiples Private Equity on its investment in Moengage, a SAAS platform for customer management.
  • Advised Arkam Ventures on its investments in Jar, a financial savings app.
  • Advised Bharat Innovation Fund on its investment in A5G Networks, which offers an autonomous network infrastructure solutions for 4G and 5G networks.
  • Advised Dream Sports on its $840 million secondary funding round with participation from Falcon Edge, DST Global, D1 Capital, Redbird Capital and Tiger Global.
  • Advised BrightCHAMPS, a global edtech venture focusing on life skills training for children, on multiple funding rounds from investors such as Premji Invest, GSV, Beenext and O21 Capital.
  • Advised Fancraze, a NFT platform for cricket, on multiple funding rounds from investors such as Insight Partners, B Capital, Tiger Global, Coatue, Sequoia, Dapper Labs and others.
  • Advised AppsForBharat, a venture focused on spiritual needs, on multiple funding rounds from investors such as Elevation Capital, Sequoia Capital, Beenext and WEH Ventures.
  • Advised Dot & Key, a premium skincare brand on it’s acquisition by Nykaa.
  • Advised Elevation Capital, Kalaari Capital, Sequoia Capital and TR Capital on the sale of their shareholding in Urban Ladder, India’s largest furniture ecommerce platform, to Reliance Retail.
  • Advised Samya.AI, an artificial intelligence based revenue growth platform, and the selling shareholders on the acquisition of Samya.AI by Fractal.AI.
  • Advised Integration Wizards, a visual artificial intelligence company, on its acquisition by Sparkcognition Inc.
