Gaurav has close to 15 years of experience in providing end-to-end legal services delivery for financial sponsors across their investment lifecycle, ranging from early-stage investments, mid-market deal-making, mature control deals and eventual exits. He continues to remain a trusted advisor for several private enterprises and corporate houses, both domestic and foreign on acquisitions, strategic investments and joint ventures, advising clients on a wide range of issues encompassing transaction structuring, capital raising, group reorganisation, exchange control, securities law and related aspects. 

His transactional experience spans across a wide range of sectors such as e-commerce, financial services, real estate and health care. His litigation experience in early years of his career has helped him provide valuable advice to clients in shareholder disputes. He has also been actively involved in thought leadership, continuous learning, development and mentoring programmes. 

Gaurav graduated from the National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata in 2006. Before joining the Firm, Gaurav was a Partner with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.

Select Professional Experience

  • Advised OAKS Asset Management and Plutus Wealth Management in the Series B Funding of $30 million raised by CredAble. CredAble is a fintech platform that provides working capital financing to corporates across Asia in payable and receivables financing, debt capital markets and SME financing. CredAble aims to use the capital raised to continue to build its technology platform, provide working capital solutions to small businesses and create new debt capital market products for corporates and financial institutions.
  • Advised India Resurgence Fund promoted by Piramal Enterprises Limited and Bain Capital Credit in its investment of up to Rs 615 crore ($83 million) in Gujarat-based Setco Group.
  • Advised V’Ocean Investments Limited in the Series B funding raised by Hero Electric Vehicles Private Limited.
  • Advised OAKS Asset Management, an existing shareholder of Incred Financial Services (the retail and MSME lending business of InCred), in the InCred Financial Services merger of its non-banking lending business with KKR India Financial Services.
  • Warburg Pincus on their acquisition of a significant stake (including a follow-on round) in Fusion Micro Finance Private Limited, a microfinance company.
