India Inc’s external commercial borrowings rise to $10 b in Q2
Our Partner, Pratish Panjabi, shares his insights with the Business Line (aka The Hindu Business Line) on the rise in external commercial borrowings (ECBs) by Indian corporates to $10.2 billion in the second quarter of the current fiscal as against $4.5 billion in the previous quarter.
According to Pratish, the uptake in ECBs is due to the economic rebound after the second wave of the pandemic helped by massive vaccine coverage and a fall in global interest rates resulting in the cheaper cost of funds.
